About the Department

The department of Instrumentation Technology was started in the year 1985. The department was offering BE degree course in Instrumentation Technology till 2004-05. The name of the department was changed to Electronics & Instrumentation during the year 2005-2006. Since then department is offering 4 years BE degree course in Electronics & Instrumentation. Department also got AICTE New Delhi approval in this regard during the year 2009-10. The department has been imparting quality engineering education to student’s community. The department has well qualified and experienced faculty.

Vision

Creating a diverse, progressive educational environment and systematically integrating the use of information technology into its academic instructional programs so that the students and faculty can fully exploit the new technology as an essential tool in continuous teaching and learning.

Mission

To provide high quality technical education and training at under graduate in response to the changing needs of industries and society through a flexible and innovative learning process enabling the students to build productive careers and excel in their professions with high degree of integrity, social concern, ethical standards and rich Indian culture.

Workshops & Seminars Conducted

Department of Electronics & Instrumentation have conducted one seminar on Recent Trends in Biomedical Instrumentation and one workshop on Virtual Instrumentation under TEQIP during the academic year 2007-08.

Deputing teachers to national/international seminars, workshops and faculty development programmes for training and updating their knowledge.

Accomplishements

Modernization of Process Control and Instrumentation lab, Instrumentation and Control System lab, Microprocessor and Microcontroller lab, was funded by AICTE, New Delhi.

Department got well equipped laboratories using TEQIP grants during the year 2006-09.

Publications

The faculty members of the institution have to their credit articles which are published in various national/international seminars souvenirs’

Department is running students forum namely Electronics & Instrumentation and brought forum magazine called ‘Splash’ during the year 2007-08.

Department is having department library under students forum. The outgoing students contribute various text books/journals to the department library. Faculties also contribute books/journals to the department library.

Electronics & Instrumentation department is having mainly 4 laboratory divisions in the new building where we moved very recently namely,

  • Electronics & Instrumentation Lab.
  • Power & Industrial Electronics Lab.
  • Micro processor & Micro controller Lab.
  • Process Instrumentation and Process Control Lab.

1. Electronics & Instrumentation Lab

In this lab we have facilities to carry out various other labs related to analog electronics circuits and digital electronics circuits. The lab is well equipped with measurement tool and kits.

2. Power & Industrial Electronics Lab

In this lab, experiments related power and industrial electronics experiment. Also experiment related data acquisition system carried out here.

3.Micro processor & Micro controller Lab

This lab is housed with number of personal computers to carry out experiments related to micro processor and micro controller. Also in this lab experiment related to digital signal processing also carried out here. Sophisticated DSP kits are interfaced with computers for the experiments related to DSP lab.

4.Process Instrumentation and Process Control Lab

In this lab experiments related to process control and process instrumentation carried out. This lab is well equipped with real time PC based Process Control Loops on flow, level, pressure, temperature control system. Also experiments related to control system engineering/ Instrumentation carried out in this lab.
